(wait? You didn't? There's still time don't worry, just read the article for all you need to know - we'll hook you up at the end of the article.)

... you are now the proud owner of a shiny new AERO series laptop. With all of that creative power you're chomping at the bit to get going with those projects that were straining your old machine.

Inspiration strikes and you're feeling the creative itch to start creating. Before you connect those external drives and get going on the next big thing, why not use these three best practices to start and stay organized to maximize the use of your new AERO Series laptop.

1. Create file folders where you save things the most. Whether you're a save it to desktop or downloads kind of person, making sure you create folders and subfolders is essential to getting started on the right foot. It's easy to say "I'll do it later" and it's overwhelming when later is six weeks down the line and you've got 211 stock photos, 25 versions of one project and 12 schematics saved with numeric file names and all over the system. It's important to start organized to stay organized.

2. Name your folders in a way you'll remember easily. Busy professionals need easy to remember file names which make sense to the project: If your organization has a system, great! If you don't have a system, then try something like:

Just creating a general folder like "articles" ends up with a massive set of documents and photos which can be difficult to wade through a few weeks down the line.

Keeping things simple, easy to read and boldly obvious will save you time hunting for the right file.

3. Be sure to name your files in way that makes them easy to find! It's easy to start out downloading stock files or even downloading off the cloud. Notice all those long numeric names? Now that might work for some people, but others will find it's more useful to name files with the simple and boldly obvious strategy. It saves time scrolling through a file folder when you have your project files named as you need. Especially when you have project revisions! Naming files such as: Reddoll Concept 1, then naming the revision to Reddoll Concept Rev1 will help you document the process and help you find the right file quickly when you need it most.

Staying organized is a great stress reducer, especially when you're working on tight deadlines! What's your favorite way of staying organized on projects? Let us know in the comments below!
